Children's ministry at Koontz Lake Missionary Church builds on the knowledge that both home and church are initiated by God and important in teaching spiritual values to children. We plan ways to partner with parents to introduce each child to the love of Jesus as their Savior and friend. Our curriculum provides families with tools they can use at home to reinforce and apply what they learn.

The primary principles that guide our approach to family ministry are:

  • Nothing is more important that someone's relationship to God.
  • No one has more potential to influence a child's relationship to God than a parent.
  • No one has more potential to influence the parent than the church.
  • The church's potential to influence a child dramatically increases when it partners with a parent.
  • The parent's potential to influence a child dramatically increases when that parent partners with the church.

Due to Covid19 we do not have a staffed nursery.  Families will worship together in the sanctuary .  We have activity kits for small children that can be used during the service. These are located across from the nursery counter.  Parents may use the nursery for changing or calming a child. The service is played through the audio in the nursery.

Beginner Promiseland is for children age 2 through Kindergarten. Due to Covid19 children will begin upstairs in the sanctuary with parents/grandparents.  Children will be dismissed after singing to come downstairs.  The floor has squares marked off for social distancing.  Masks are encouraged to be worn until seated. The curriculum used is called First Look. Lessons and activities focus on three basic truths that we want children to learn during their first years of life as a foundation for a lifelong relationship to God. Click here to see the overview of lessons for the coming year. Click here to see what your child is studying this month and some ideas for reinforcing these concepts at home.

Beginner parents can now get an app, Parent Cue, for iPhone, iPad or Android that has questions, activities, videos, podcasts and articles to help them use everyday moments to reinforce what children are learning

at Promiseland.
